"Outdoor Retailer is the epicenter of the outdoor industry–where the entire community can come together to conduct business, and collaborate in a personal, face-to-face way," says Marisa Nicholson, VP and Outdoor Retailer show director. Attendees agree that one of the biggest benefits of Winter Market is making connections. "I don’t have any other opportunities where I can see everybody in one space. Even regional shows don't come close to this scope, cites Mike Ruschman, buying department manager for Midwest Mountaineering.
This season’s ORWM '16, held January 6-10 in Salt Lake City, attracted an estimated 22,000 attendees and more than 1,060 exhibiting brands, which was on par with Winter Market 2015. The show provided specialty retailers with new tools and resources, designed to support their needs, helping them to better navigate the show floor and identify new products. As the U.S. outdoor market continues to gain strength and build confidence through the creation of innovative outdoor trends, attendees were energized when previewing a plethora of imaginative products presented by branded manufacturers.
