Highlights of Techtextil North America and Texprocess Americas 2014
The Techtextil N.A./Texprocess Show held in Atlanta generated a great deal of enthusiasm from 759 exhibitors from 29 countries and attracted 9,039 visitors. Country pavilions included Italy, Portugal, Belgium, China, Germany, Supply Chain USA and UBIFrance.
According to show organizers, U.S. business in functional textiles is on the rise. With important production advances in both efficiency and technology, it is estimated that the total production of functional apparel textiles will represent $1,500 million by the year 2020.

Synthetic Yarn & Fiber Association Conference, Charlotte, NC, April 18 - 19, 2013
The "Textiles Get Smart" Conference, sponsored by the Synthetic Yarn & Fiber Association (SYFA) was held in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 18 - 19. The conference included review of the current state of the business and the opportunity to network with industry leaders and innovators and learn about new trends and technologies involving recent fiber and yarns developments, including a look at 3D printed printed clothing, being called the future of apparel production.
The FabricLink Network (FLN) focuses on some of the most interesting "smart" trends and technologies highlighted at the conference, and their potential impact on supply chain management going forward.
The LAUNCH Systems Challenge, Pasadena, California September 26 -28, 2013
The LAUNCH Sytem challenge sponsored by NASA, Nike, the US Agency for International Development and the US Department of State was held at the Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL) in Pasadena September 26 -28. The 2013 Challenge focused on textile innovations that promote sustainability. The top 10 winners involve fiber & fabric prototypes and innovative manufacturing systems that have the potential for commercialization and make positive social and environmental impacts.
Smart Fabrics Conference, Miami April 17 - 19, 2012
The Smart Fabrics 2012 Conference, organized by Smithers Apex (formerly known as IntertechPira), now in its eighth year, is the only event of its kind that gathers attendees from around the globe from the fashion, technology, electronics, research, academia, textile, and diverse applications communitiies. The Conference, held in Miami, Florida, on April 17-19, 2012, focused on the evolution of smart fabrics, where this industry stands today, and the projected next steps for wearable technology implementation.
Techtextil North America and Texprocess Americas, Atlanta April 24-26, 2012
Techtextil North America and Texprocess Americas, dual tradeshows held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta on April 24-26, 2012, drew 479 exhibitors and over 6,800 attendees. Texprocess Americas was also co-produced by SPESA (Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas).
The two events included concurrent symposiums presented by leading industry professionals, touting the newest textile innovations from textile producers and suppliers, and addressing current issues facing todayâ€™s sewn products and equipment industry.
