TERNUA TRIUMPHS AT THE 2022 ISPO AWARDS (11/24/22)
• Called the Oscars of sports, they're the most prestigious awards in the outdoor sector. • A jury of international experts chose the Agile Hybrid Jacket M&W, the Race Pant M&W and the Seal L/S T-Shirt M&W baselayer from among 57 finalist garments. • These three ISPO AWARDS sit alongside 6 previous ones (2002, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2021), in addition to an Outdoor Industry Award in 2017. Ternua has just received three ISPO AWARDS. They are given every year at the ISPO show, which is the most important date for the retail sports industry and which will be held this year in Munich from 28 to 30 November The jury of nearly fifty industry experts from different countries and disciplines chose the Agile Hybrid Jacket M&W; the Race Pant M&W; and the Seal L/S T-Shirt M&W baselayer from among 57 finalist garments because of their high degree of sustainable innovation used in the products. The Agile Hybrid Jacket M&W is one of the new products that Ternua will present at the ISPO fair as part of their 2023 Fall-Winter collection, specifically in the Adrenalite line that is focused on highly aerobic outdoor sports like trail running, skimo, climbing, e-biking or light hiking. This super-light and versatile second layer that is suitable for all four seasons has good thermal properties for intense activities thanks to the combination of the Warmshell Breathe textile for insulation, Pertex Quantum Air on the chest (to protect the wearer from the wind), and Warmshell for the structure (to expel perspiration and keep the body dry). Also, it is PFC free. Its singularity is that it is a highly technical jacket made entirely of polyester that is recycled (mono-material), including the zippers and the zipper tape, and, in turn, 100% recyclable at the end of its life cycle (promoting circular processes). With the Race Pant M&W, also in the Adrenalite line of the upcoming winter collection, the jury valued the robustness of the garment, which is designed to last, and its functionality and technicity, because it uses the recycled Stormfleece Pro textile that doesn't have a membrane but is extremely resistant to wind, water and cold and is combined with a PFC free water repellent treatment. Stormfleece™ is a patented Singtex technology that combines technology in a single fabric. The outer part is especially wind and rain resistant and the inner part is soft and warm. The fact that the fabric is so functional with only one layer allows Ternua to minimize material consumption and, in addition, thanks to the fabric structure, which is very durable and less prone to fiber loss and microfiber emission, the brand is making a contribution in the fight against the generation of microplastics. The third garment that received an award was the Seal L/S T-Shirt M&W baselayer, which is an undershirt like no other on the market. It's very lightweight, has no seams and is made with recycled polyamide from the Redcycle project. It's also a unique piece because it has the innovative HeiQ fresh mint anti-odor treatment, which is a pioneering technique for eliminating odors using organic compounds instead of heavy metals and it comes from a mint essential oil by-product. It's extremely breathable and fast drying. It's focused on very intense medium-short duration activities. These products, which are part of the new generation of garments setting trends in textile innovation and sustainability in the outdoor sports sector, will have a very special place at Ternua's IPSO stand (A3-508). They will go on sale starting in September 2023. These three IPSO AWARDS are an addition to ones received previously. In 2021 Ternua won two prizes, one for Rakaposhi, the most breathable mountaineering jacket on the market, and another for Miquelon, a biodegradable urban jacket that represents the history of the brand. In 2019 the brand won an IPSO AWARD for their mountain ski-suit made with disused fishing nets from the Redcycle project. In 2017 the jury chose the “Craddle” jacket, which is made entirely of recycled materials and that is, in turn, recyclable, for the prize. In 2016 Ternua won an ISPO AWARD for the "Terranova" and "South River" jackets, designed with GORE TEX and recycled down filling. And in 2002 the Basque brand made its debut in these awards for the "Safe Sail System" life jacket designed for fishermen.
