Topo Athletic Continues Innovation with eVent Fabrics, Adopts eVent’s stormST for New Phantom 4 WP Road Shoe (10/16/25)

eVent® Fabrics, a global leader in breathable waterproof, weatherproof, and windproof fabric technologies, is doubling down on a partnership with Topo Athletic by supplying the plant-based stormST waterproof/breathable laminate for the new Phantom 4 WP road shoe. Hitting the market in Fall 2025, the Phantom 4 WP joins other notable Topo shoes, including the Terraventure 4 WP and Trailventure 2 WP. This growing collection will all feature eVent’s plant-based, PFAS-free stormST waterproof/breathable laminate. “Our partnership with Topo is helping to set a new footwear industry standard,” said Chad Kelly, President of eVent Fabrics. “Topo’s growing use of our plant-based, PFAS-free stormST laminate shows that footwear brands do not have to give up performance in order to create more plant-positive products. We look forward to helping Topo continue their mission to reduce environmental impact while creating some of the best performing footwear on the market.” “With stormST, we’re bringing the breathable, waterproof protection runners expect from eVent to the road,” said Russ Stevens, Product Director at Topo Athletic. “Phantom 4 WP delivers comfort you can count on, no matter the weather ahead.” eVent’s light, tough, and flexible stormST laminate combines a plant-based membrane with recycled or smartly sourced face and backer fabrics, all finished with a C0 DWR. Using no PFAS chemicals in its production, stormST delivers the reliable, breathable waterproof protection expected from eVent, keeping users comfortable in wet or snowy conditions. This sustainable fabric technology helps minimize the carbon footprint of any product using it, without compromising performance. Topo’s Phantom 4 WP is built for runners and walkers who want to adventure outdoors, rain or shine. Topo’s first waterproof road shoe takes the beloved Phantom 4 and adds eVent stormST technology to keep feet dry when the weather turns wet. Generous cushioning combines with a roomy toe box for outstanding comfort, while the ZipFoam™ midsole offers soft response. $165
