PERFORMANCE DAYS and Future Fabrics Expo announce strategic partnership (5/8/25)
PERFORMANCE DAYS is pleased to announce a new collaboration with the renowned Future Fabrics Expo. Both platforms share a common mission: to create synergies, strengthen the innovative spirit of the industry, and promote sustainable solutions. This new collaboration will officially launch with a dedicated PERFORMANCE DAYS feature area at the upcoming Future Fabrics Expo in London on June 24-25, 2025. Trade visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Focus Topic from the last spring edition of PERFORMANCE DAYS: “Certifications – Which Ones Matter?” Future Fabrics Expo & PERFORMANCE DAYS: A forward-thinking collaboration Future Fabrics Expo, an initiative by the Swiss non-profit organisation The Sustainable Angle, has been a key international platform for responsible material innovation in the fashion industry since its inception in London in 2011. With over 10.000 materials on show, more than 270 suppliers and exhibitors, it offers professionals from all creative industries an invaluable resource for sourcing sustainably and responsibly produced textiles and innovations. FFE aims to accelerate the transformation of the fashion and interior design industries into a positive force for people and planet — through renewable, safe, and traceable materials showcased, supported by educational information displayed, practical knowledge-sharing in the form of workshops as well as FFE seminar series. In this context, the collaboration between Future Fabrics Expo and PERFORMANCE DAYS proves to be both meaningful and strategically valuable. Both initiatives are united in their commitment to making sustainable material innovations accessible and tangible, while actively shaping the future of the textile sector. While Future Fabrics Expo brings deep expertise and a curated global network of sustainable materials for fashion, home and interiors, PERFORMANCE DAYS offers a dynamic, international business platform for functional fabrics—setting standards in sustainability, innovation, and networking. This partnership comes at a time of strong momentum: the Spring 2025 edition of PERFORMANCE DAYS, held on March 5–6 at Messe München, drew over 3,367 visitors and 588 exhibitors, clearly surpassing the figures of previous years. With both halls fully booked and growing international appeal, the fair further strengthens its role not only as a key hub for functional textiles, but also as an emerging driver of sustainable innovation across the wider textile sector. Nina Marenzi, founder and CEO of The Sustainable Angle and Future Fabrics Expo: “We are excited about this collaboration and the opportunities it brings along: it enables FFE to reach further afield. It will be the first time that FFE’s curated Innovation Hub will be showcased in Munich, Portland and Shanghai, and will build on its previous editions held in NYC. A cooperation with PD will underline the importance of innovation driving sustainability in the textiles sector for fashion and related creative industries. The future lies in nature positive, decarbonized supply chains and innovation will help us get there.” Kicking Off in London: Future Fabrics Expo hosts focus topic from PERFORMANCE DAYS A highlight of this new collaboration will be the presentation of the PERFORMANCE DAYS Focus Topic Wall titled "Certifications – which ones matter?" at Future Fabrics Expo in London on June 24–25, 2025. Originally presented at the Spring edition of PERFORMANCE DAYS, this topic emphasized the critical importance of credible certifications in ensuring transparency and accountability in sustainability efforts. At the center of the discussion: which certifications are necessary—or recommended by PERFORMANCE DAYS—to meet the current sustainability standards of the industry? In London, visitors will gain a comprehensive overview of sustainability certifications in the textile sector. The guide aims to illuminate the complexities, provide clarity, and support professionals in making informed sourcing decisions—ultimately enhancing the visitor experience and setting new industry benchmarks for transparency and responsibility. Looking Ahead: Plans for New York, Munich, and Portland The partnership extends far beyond London. Additional joint activities are already planned for: • Functional Fabric Fair powered by PERFORMANCE DAYS in New York, July 22–23, 2025 • PERFORMANCE DAYS in Munich, October 29–30, 2025 • Functional Fabri
